You don't need to store on line, just get an eternal hard drive and use it for storage. If you don't have a lot of files, just use a USB flash drive or burn your files to DVD-RW. As far as recovering your files from your dead hard drive, there's not a lot of options. Professional services that recover mostly for businesses are very expensive.
